Database: DBInventory.mdb
Access Version: Access 2002
Date: 12/20/2006

Purpose: The utility was created to show how to:
 1. Select a folder with Access database(s) you would like to inventory (table/field names)
 2. Scan the selected folder for '*.mdb' files
 3. Write the TableNames and their FieldNames in a local Table (tblDBInventory)
 4. Display a simple report showing the results

Instructions:
 1. Startup opens 'frmDBInventory'
 2. Select 'Folder Search' button to select a folder to inventory (sorry, you will have to select a file here)
 3. After the desired folder is displayed, select 'Prepare Documentation' to inventory databases
 4. Click 'Ok' in 'Output' section to see the results (data is in 'tblDBInventory')

This was primarily intended to show how you could:
 - start by selecting a folder (path)
 - look for all of the *.mdb files in that path
 - open each *.mdb file and examine the tables / fields
 - display the results

Caution: this is not production quality work. It was created rather than pasting code into an e-mail.

Good luck!

Stan
