How to Put a Web Browser on an Access Form. If you cannot open the sample database, these instructions tell you how to do it yourself. To add the WebBrowser control to a Form, open the Form in Design View and click the "More Controls" button on the Tool Box Menu. Click on "Microsoft Web Browser", then place the control on your Form. This example demonstrates a few basic uses of the control. To add more functionality you can use the Object Browser. You can also use the Object Box to select the WebBrowser control and the Procedure Box to see the Events that are available for you to use. I named the Web Browser Control "WebBrowser4" that covers most of the form. Above that I have a wide unbound textbox at the top of the Form named "txtURL". I placed two buttons below the txtURL textbox named "cmdGoBack" and "cmdGoForward". To the right of these two buttons I have a button named "cmdGoToURL". To the right of that button I placed a wide textbox named "txtWebPageName". All of these controls are above the Web Browser Control. Below is the code I used: Option Compare Database Option Explicit Private Sub cmdGoBack_Click() On Error GoTo Err_cmdGoBack_Click ' This works like the Back button in Internet Explorer ' I Don't know the purpose of the "returnValue" variable ' Which is always "False". ' I just know it is needed to make it work. Dim returnValue As Boolean returnValue = Me.WebBrowser4.GoBack() Exit_cmdGoBack_Click: Exit Sub Err_cmdGoBack_Click: ' Let the user know they cannot go back now DoCmd.Beep Resume Next End Sub Private Sub cmdGoForward_Click() On Error GoTo Err_cmdGoForward_Click ' This works like the Forward button in Internet Explorer Dim returnValue As Boolean returnValue = Me.WebBrowser4.GoForward() Exit_cmdGoForward_Click: Exit Sub Err_cmdGoForward_Click: ' Let the user know they cannot go forward now DoCmd.Beep Resume Next End Sub Private Sub cmdGoToURL_Click() On Error GoTo Err_cmdGoToURL_Click ' This code opens the URL in thetxtURL textbox ' Declare a variable to use to open the URL ' that is in the txtURL textbox Dim strURL As String strURL = Me.txtURL ' Make sure txtURL contains text If Len(Me.txtURL & vbNullString) > 0 Then ' This code opens the URL in txtURL Me.WebBrowser4.Navigate (strURL) End If Exit_cmdGoToURL_Click: Exit Sub Err_cmdGoToURL_Click: DoCmd.Beep Resume Next End Sub Private Sub Form_Load() ' Open the MS Access Professionals Website ' like a Home Page when the Form loads. Me.WebBrowser4.Navigate ("http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/MS_Access_Professionals/") End Sub Private Sub WebBrowser4_NavigateComplete2(ByVal pDisp As Object, URL As Variant) ' Display the current URL in the txtURL textbox Me.txtURL = WebBrowser4.LocationURL ' Display the Web Page Title Me.txtWebPageName = WebBrowser4.LocationName End Sub
